Holland Award

With an endowment established by David “Scotty” Holland, this cash award is given annually to a selected faculty member from the Holland School of Sciences and Math at Hardin-Simmons University. The selected faculty is recognized for high achievement. The funds are to be used for professional development and enrichment.

The 2011 Recipient is Dr. Chris McNair.

He has had incredible success in preparing students for professional programs and careers in a Christian setting that utilizes highly trained faculty and small class sizes to optimize the educational experience.

Hardin-Simmons combines the best qualities a university can offer. Students are afforded all of the opportunities that large state schools offer without the hassles of being a number and not a name. As an alumnus and now a faculty member at Hardin-Simmons, he feels that his educational experience at Hardin-Simmons prepared him extremely well to pursue a career as a scientist and educator in the biomedical sciences.
