Awards are divided into half Master's and half Ph.D. applicants. Awards are announced in April or May.
Grants are based on merit, and in part, on the financial needs of the applicant. Although the focus of the program is the support of qualified candidates for Masters or equivalent degrees, qualified doctoral candidates are also encouraged to apply.
Eligibility Requirements: Award recipients must be enrolled in a Masters or Ph.D. program or their equivalent. Fourth year degrees or B.S. with honors are not eligible for grants. Students are eligible to win twice during the duration of their graduate studies. Any questions or concerns regarding eligibility, please contact the AAPG Foundation's GIA Program Coordinator, April Stuart at email@example.com.
