Mission

The American Association of Petroleum Geologists Foundation – Oklahoma State University Geoscience and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Consortium exists to create, accelerate and sustain digital peer-reviewed GIS products, carried out through OSU’s Geology and Geography Departments and the AAPG Spatial Publications Standing Committee. The new research will have direct application to the search for and development of petroleum and energy-related mineral resources, and/or related to environmental geology or related economic issues.

Letter of Inquiry Guidelines

Letters of Inquiry (LOI) should be not more than two pages. The letter of inquiry should include the following to be considered:

  1. Faculty or student name, address and key contact information
  2. Project relative to the Consortium’s mission
  3. Confirm project is New Research
  4. Dollar amount of funding request
  5. Total Project budget
  6. Period this funding request will cover
  7. Purpose of the funding request including:
    1. Description of project
    2. Identification of who will benefit/what is hoped to be accomplished
    3. How the funding request will accomplish the above
  8. Attachments should include: list of current funding, duplicate funding request and project budget.

The Letter of Inquiry will be reviewed by the Consortia Advisory Committee and should be submitted directly to the OSU-GIS Consortium or mail to:
