The AAPG Foundation is pleased to recognize a K-12 Teacher of the Year with an annual award of $6,000 for Excellence in the Teaching of Natural Resources in the Earth Sciences. The award is presented at the AAPG Annual Convention & Exhibition each spring.

Application Submission

Each participating local geological society will select a local recipient. The local geological society recipients will be submitted to their appropriate AAPG Section and they will choose a candidate from among them. The AAPG Section candidates will then be submitted to AAPG Foundation for selection of the recipient by the panel of five judges.

The award includes $3,000 to the recipient's school and $3,000 for the recipient's personal use. In addition, the recipient will receive an expense-paid trip to the Annual Convention & Exhibition (ACE) to receive the award. The 2013 ACE will be at Pittsburgh, PA.
