The AAPG Foundation’s L. Austin Weeks Undergraduate Grant program annually awards deserving geoscience students and geoscience student organizations across the world with $500 in grant funds. These international grants support the educational expenses of undergraduate geoscience students and their associated student organizations.

The 2015-16 application for Grants-in-Aid is now open! There are 92 grants available, ranging from $500 to $3,000 each, totaling $260,000 in research funds to be awarded in 2016.

Do you know a K-12 Earth Science teacher who is committed to providing excellence in geoscience education? Nominate him or her for the 2016 Teacher of the Year (TOTY) award.

This year the L. Austin Weeks Undergraduate Selection Panel convened and scored more than 350 grant applications.

The AAPG Foundation has worked steadily to shape a program that will support veterans in furthering and completing their geologic undergraduate education. Aptly named the U.S. Military Veterans Scholarship Program (MVSP), the program offers financial support for veterans who are returning from service, re-adapting to civilian life, and focusing on achieving a degree that will ultimately pave a way for a future career in the geosciences.
