The 2014 Halbouty Lecturer is Carlos A. Dengo, Director of the Berg-Hughes Center for Petroleum and Sedimentary Systems at Texas A&M University. The lecture is scheduled for Monday, April 7 at 5 p.m. at the AAPG Annual Convention and Exhibition to be held in Houston, TX. The title of his talk is “Transcending Geoscience Paradigms for Exploration Opportunity Growth.”

The Michel T. Halbouty Lecturer program supports an annual lecture given at the AAPG Annual Convention & Exhibition.

The subject must deal with wildcat exploration in any part of the world, especially in areas where major discoveries might contribute significantly to petroleum reserves or space exploration where astrogeological knowledge would further mankind’s ability to develop resources on earth and in our solar system.
