  • The Professorial award, given by the American Association for Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) Foundation, is granted annually to a college or university professor who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in the field of geoscience education. The application cycle for this award opens August 1st and closes February 15th of each year. Student and faculty nominations are accepted and encouraged for this award. Professors may also apply on their own behalf.

The award is intended to encourage geoscience professors to stay current on industry trends and cutting edge technology to share with their undergraduate and graduate students, further enhancing the field of geoscience research. Professorial Award recipients receive a $1,000 award, recognition at AAPG's Annual Convention and Exhibition (ACE), and a beautiful commemorative plaque acknowledging the achievement.
